Every edit deserves another possibility.
Lucile is a professional video editor built around branching, version history, and merging. Explore creative directions without duplicating entire projects.
Private alpha for Windows
An editor first. With history built in.
These are captures of the running application, not mockups. Lucile has the timeline, monitors and inspector editors expect, and a Versions workspace where branches, revisions and merges live.
The Edit workspace. Bin, Source and Program monitors, inspector and timeline, with the current branch and commit state in the timeline bar.
The Versions workspace. Every branch and named commit, a viewer for any revision, and the changes between any two: added, removed, modified, moved.
A three-way merge against the common ancestor. Both branches changed the same temperature value, so Lucile stops and asks: keep Main, take warmer-grade, or enter a value.
Try the workflow.
A small in-browser model of branching, comparing and merging, built on frames from Lucile's demo project. Drag clips, grade them, commit, branch and merge. It is a sketch for this page, not the editor itself.

Branch. Compare. Merge.
The ideas that made version control indispensable for code, shaped for a timeline.
-
Branch
Explore a new creative direction without destroying the original. Branches share your media files; nothing is copied.
-
Compare
See what changed between revisions and branches, item by item: what was added, removed, modified or moved, and the values before and after.
-
Merge
Bring changes together with explicit conflict resolution. When both sides touched the same thing, you decide, and undo reverts the whole merge.
Be among the first to edit differently.
